New York Yankees reliever Adam Ottavino has been arguably the safest arm out of the bullpen, and the only thing standing in his way of perfection has been free passes. But hey, if I could make a ball move like this, I might have some command problems too. Check out this nasty slider Ottavino threw to Franmil Reyes for a called third strike.

It was a borderline pitch and could've been called a ball instead of strike three, but give credit to the catcher for framing it as such. However, with that kind of nastiness, did the homeplate umpire really want to call that a ball? Hell, he was probably mesmerized by it, as well.

Fans may wonder why Reyes didn't swing, at the very least, but check out the slider overlay with his two-seam fastball.

Yup. I'm freezing on that pitch, too. Ottavino gets incredible movement on his pitches and it's hard to decipher whether that was a slider or a filthy two-seamer until the last moment. At that point, you don't have a chance to make contact so maybe it's out of the zone and you live to see another pitch.

That was not the case here.
