VIDEO: Yankees' Chad Green Gives up 2 Home Runs and Then Drills Rays' Daniel Robertson in Head
By Thomas Carannante
Chad Green = not fixed. The embattled New York Yankees reliever got off to a terrible start in 2019 before he was sent down to Triple-A to work out the kinks. After seemingly rebounding in the minors, he was called back up to the MLB roster, but hasn't entirely been able to shake off the rust. He further proved that on Sunday when he was pitching as the opener against the Tampa Bay Rays.
LOOK OUT!
Green allowed some hard contact in the first inning but got out of a jam with a runner on second. However, his troubling start caught up to him in the second inning. He got the first two outs of the inning and then gave up back-to-back homers to Kevin Kiermaier and Willy Adames before plunking Daniel Robertson in the head with a wicked fastball.
Not a great sight for the right-hander, who left the game before getting out of the second inning.
