VIDEO: Yankees Didi Gregorius' Absurd Near-Home Run Pretty Much Proves the Balls Are Un-Juiced
By Jerry Trotta
Are there actually baseball fans out there who don't believe that MLB opted to deploy un-juiced balls during the postseason? If so, you clearly haven't been watching or paying attention to the alarming statistics that back the notion. Well, video evidence was once again provided during Tuesday night's Game 3 of the ALCS when Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius launched a towering fly ball that landed just shy of clearing the right field wall in the fifth inning.
What more does Sir Didi have to do here? You can argue that he upper-cutted a bit, but that's about a good of a swing that you can put on a Gerrit Cole fastball. The sheer verocity that Gregorius put into that swing should've resulted in a 400-plus foot dinger.
The sad part, however, is that three weeks ago, that baseball lands in the right field bleachers and the Yanks promptly have a 3-2 lead over the game's best pitcher.
Hey, commissioner Rob Manfred, the people deserve an explanation!
