VIDEO: Yankees Melt Down in 1st Inning to Give Astros Early Lead on Wild Pitch
By Jerry Trotta

The New York Yankees, on the brink of being eliminated from the postseason, could not have gotten off to much of a worse start in Friday night's pivotal Game 5 as they continued their shockingly sloppy play from Game 4. Aaron Boone's side gifted the Houston Astros a first inning run as George Springer practically jogged home from third after a James Paxton wild pitch.

We understand that pitch bounced, but what on earth is Gary Sanchez doing behind the plate? The effort he put into stopping the ball is downright laughable.
In truth, however, Springer shouldn't have even been on base as Gleyber Torres misplayed a grounder at second base to lead off the game.
It took 3 batters plus 1 pitch for #Yankees to lose the home crowd. 1 misplayed grounder, 1 passed ball, 1 wild pitch, 1 run. #Astros.

If the Yanks stand a shot at forcing a Game 6, they better clean up their act, and fast.
