VIDEO: Yankees' Miguel Andújar Looks All the Way Back in Latest Batting Practice Clip
By Chris Pyo
Hopefully Yankee fans haven't forgot about Miguel Andújar, because he's coming back with a vengeance. After missing pretty much the entire 2019 MLB season with a torn labrum, Andujar looks like he's officially fully back to where he was during the 2018 season, during which he hit .297 with 27 homers and 92 RBI en route to a second-place finish in the Rookie of the Year voting. This clip of him taking batting practice will surely excite Yankee fans.
Dead center rips.
However, with the Yankees having more than enough depth in their starting lineup, it remains to be seen how Aaron Boone will utilize Andújar in the lineup.
The emergence of Gio Urshela at the hot corner means that Andújar likely won't have a spot to play on the field, unless he becomes a utility player and learns how to play other infield spots.
Some pundits have predicted the Yankees will use him as trade bait in a deal for Josh Hader, Francisco Lindor or Kyle Schwarber. While people are allowed to dream, Andújar's value is currently at an all-time low, especially coming off his injury, and the Yankees could either ease him back into action or slot him in the DH role.
Nonetheless, it's tremendous news that his swing appears to be back and that has to be troubling for opposing pitching staffs.
