The New York Yankees historic run continues. During the bottom of the fifth inning, DJ LeMahieu smashed a three-run homer against Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander. With the home run on Sunday, the Yankees have officially set a franchise record of 26 consecutive games with a home run.

That's an incredibly impressive streak, as it shows just how deep the Yankees lineup is, as well as how many power hitters are featured in the mix. Not to mention, this streak began well before Giancarlo Stanton or Aaron Judge returned from the IL, and prior to the Edwin Encarnación trade.

With the return of Stanton and Judge from the injured list this week, it looks as though that record will continue to grow for a while. And who better to notch the 26th consecutive game with a bomb than No. 26 himself?

Not to mention, achieving the feat off an elite pitcher such as Justin Verlander proves that the Bombers are able to get after anyone on the mound, even Cy Young candidates.

The LeMahieu dinger officially tied the Yankees with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the fifth-most home runs in MLB with 126, and don't be surprised to see the Yanks atop that list at season's end, now that they're at full strength offensively.

The Bronx Bombers are truly living up to the name this year.
