VIDEO: Yankees Take Lead Over Twins as Didi Gregorius Stays Hot and Mike Tauchman Delivers
By Scott Rogust
Tuesday night saw the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins compete in a back-and-forth fireworks show. While many will look at the five-lead changes and clutch diving catch by Aaron Hicks, there's also Didi Gregorius' historic seven-RBI performance, putting him in the same category as Joe DiMaggio and Lou Gehrig. The Yankees shortstop continued his fiery streak with an RBI double off Twins ace Jake Odorizzi, allowing Edwin Encarnacion to score for New York.
Shortly afterward, with Gregorius and Gleyber Torres on base, outfielder Mike Tauchman would send his teammates home with a two-run triple to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead.
Look at that hustle!
Eight RBI in two games and "Sir Didi" simply can't be stopped right now. As for Tauchman, let's not forget he was the man who got on base with a two-out walk before Hicks' game-tying home run.
