VIDEO: Yankees Triple-A Team Wins After Opponent Forgets the Score and Throws Ball into the Crowd
By Scott Rogust
During Wednesday night's game between the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and Norfolk Tides, Breyvic Valera hit a game-tying double in the bottom of the tenth inning. Norfolk outfielder Anderson Feliz, believing the game to be lost, didn't play the ball, and embarrassingly tossed the baseball into the crowd. His lapse of judgement allowed Valera to round the bases and stomp on home plate for a walk-off win in the most ludicrous fashion of all time.
This is just outright embarrassing. Not only was he completely unaware of the score in a clinical moment of the game, but rather than throw the ball back into the field, he sealed the game by tossing it out of play.
Athletes have had their fair share of brain farts during games, and Feliz is the latest to join the group. If he's looking to earn a promotion to the big leagues, he may have just set himself back a long, long time.
