VIDEO: Yasiel Puig Effortlessly Guns Yankees' Cameron Maybin Out at Home Plate
By Kevin Aquino
Yasiel Puig has got a cannon and he's not afraid to use it. The Cleveland Indians right fielder nonchalantly stood beneath a fly ball, caught it and rifled it back to home plate to end the inning against the Yankees. He didn't even need a build up to get the ball all the way to the plate, beating Cameron Maybin by a mile.
This just shows the inordinate amount of strength Puig possesses. Most players would need a big build up in order to fire that ball to the catcher, but Puig practically did it flat footed.
The star outfielder made his way to Cleveland from Cincinnati at the trade deadline in a three-team transaction that also involved the Padres. Puig recently served a three-game suspension for his role in the brawl between the Reds and Pirates on July 30, but he's back in the mix now and heaving absolute rockets in from the outfield.
