VIDEO: Yasiel Puig Rents Helicopter to Visit Young Kids With Cancer at Camp Simcha While in New York
By Daniel Marcillo

Yasiel Puig may give the impression that he is a loose cannon on the field, but he takes the "Puig Your Friend" label to heart. Most big leaguers would take advantage of their day off in New York City to explore the metropolis, but Puig had other ideas. He rented a helicopter to visit Camp Simcha in New York's Catskill Mountains.
From last night: Kudos to @YasielPuig for going above and beyond on his off-day in New York. Here's the story of his visit to @CampSimcha, a visit he says has forever changed him. pic.twitter.com/xnPq8zSZZE

It was his first off day in a couple weeks and it shows his character to use the day off to make the trip. Camp Simcha is a overnight summer camp for children who are battling cancer along with other terminal diseases.
Puig said it is sad to see kids have to go through such diseases, but when he arrived the atmosphere included a surprising amount of optimism.
While in town to play the Mets, @YasielPuig spent today at @CampSimcha with children who are battling cancer. His enthusiasm toward bringing sheer joy to these children should be an example for athletes/celebrities everywhere.

It was not only life changing experience for the kids, but for Puig as well who looks forward to returning to the camp in the near future.
