Houston Astros rookie left fielder and designated hitter has done nothing but rake since he entered the league. He has 11 homers already, and is now etched in MLB history, having just broken future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols' record with 35 hits in his first 30 career games. Check out the double that drove in the record-setting run.

Since Alvarez's debut, he's broken or come close to breaking most hitting records for rookies within his first month in the Major Leagues. Still only 22 years old, Alvarez has a bright future ahead with the competitive Houston Astros.

Nearly three years ago, Alvarez was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to Houston in exchange for reliever Josh Fields. I'm sure Astros GM Jeff Luhnow and the rest of the organization look back on that trade quite fondly.
