VIDEO: Yordan Alvarez Smacks 22nd Homer of the Year as Astros Take Lead Over Brewers
By Michael Luciano

Houston Astros superstar rookie Yordan Alvarez is the runaway favorite for AL Rookie of the Year, and now he's getting the chance to terrorize some NL pitchers. Alvarez, using the opposite field power that has quickly become his signature, blasted a solo home run off of Milwaukee Brewers lefty Brent Suter. Alvarez's 22nd homer of the season broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Astros the lead in the sixth inning.

Just a reminder, folks. The Los Angeles Dodgers had him and traded him for Josh Fields.
Alvarez tied Carlos Correa for the most home runs by a rookie in franchise history. He also trails only Joe DiMaggio in extra base hits in a player's first 60 games.
Yordan Alvarez has 39 XBH over his 1st 60 career games.

That ranks 2nd in @MLB history trailing only Joe DiMaggio (46).
Anytime your name is that close to DiMaggio in the record books, you're doing something right at the plate. Alvarez has been in a zone all year, and isn't snapping out of it as the playoffs come around.
