VIDEO: Yu Darvish Does Excellent Imitation of Anthony Rizzo's Approach on Instagram
By Michael Luciano
Chicago Cubs right hander Yu Darvish has always been known as one of the league's best strikeout artists. However, this offseason he's proving that he's quite the character, which is a bit of shock given how reserved he normally is. Darvish, perhaps looking for a way to improve his performance at the dish, perfectly mimicked the unique batting stance of his Cubs teammate and first baseman Anthony Rizzo, showing off an adept two-strike approach.
The Batting Stance Guy might have some competition for the first time in his life, as Darvish looks like a dead-on ringer for Rizzo.
Darvish, who finally was able to translate his unhittable stuff from Texas to Chicago during the second half, has been making some noise this offseason, proving once and for all that he is absolute king of the Twitter clapback. When one particular fan, who mentioned in his bio that he loves fried chicken, decided to have a go at Darvish, the 33-year-old responded by telling him to "eat fried chicken until death."
Strange, certainly, but it got the point across.
He also cranked Justin Verlander into the stratosphere after a World Series fielding gaffe, pulling up the archive in order to roast him.
Theo Epstein and the Cubs might be gearing up for a relatively quiet offseason, but this probably won't be the last we hear from Darvish.
