Vikings Activate WR Josh Doctson From IR With Adam Thielen Out for Week 11

The Minnesota Vikings will be without their top wide receiving threat in Adam Thielen this weekend, as the two-time Pro Bowler continues to nurse an ailing hamstring.
In order to replace Thielen for Sunday's clash with the Denver Broncos, the Vikings have activated WR Josh Doctson to the 53-man roster from injured reserve.
A former member of the Washington Redskins, Doctson landed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury and has yet to play a down of football this season. Suffice it to say, he'll have big shoes to fill with Thielen out.
The Redskins cut ties with Doctson this past offseason, after which the 26-year-old latched on with the Vikings. Doctson missed all but two games of his rookie season due to Achilles tendinitis. He spent three seasons in Washington, featuring in 33 games and starting 26. He caught 81 receptions for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns in his Redskins career.
Now, he's back with a familiar signal caller in Kirk Cousins. Perhaps a new offensive scheme paired with his former quarterback could be just what the former first-round pick needs to reach his full potential.
At the end of the day, it's not likely Doctson has a huge impact on the game, but his return from IR -- especially given the absence of Thielen -- adds some much-needed depth to the receiving corps.
