Physical, hard-hitting safety Andrew Sendejo didn't have to wait long to latch on with another NFL team. In fact, he's heading back to his old stomping grounds.

Sendejo, who was the latest victim of the Philadelphia Eagles' habit of cutting defensive starters after a few poor games in a row, was claimed off of waivers by the Minnesota Vikings, with whom Sendejo played for the last eight seasons.

Originally an undrafted free agent out of Rice, Sendejo latched on with Minnesota, eventually becoming a key special teamer and later taking over a starting role at safety. Sendejo piled up 355 tackles and six picks in his eight years with the Vikings.

In 2019, Sendejo had 26 tackles and a sack with the Eagles. Mike Zimmer, a defensive-minded coach and could always use more defensive backs, especially one that already knows his complex system. Expect Sendejo to earn some key snaps as a backup to Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris.

Sendejo goes from one NFC contender to another, as he tries to help push Minnesota to a division crown or a Wild Card spot.
