Vikings GM Rick Spielman Opens Door for NFL Draft Trades on Day 2 and Potential Trent Williams Move
By Mark Powell

The Minnesota Vikings filled one glaring need on Thursday in securing a receiver next to Adam Thielen, drafting former LSU stud Justin Jefferson.
Now facing the looming challenges in the second and third-round on Day 2, Rick Spielman and Co. are open for business, expected to be one of the more active teams in terms of trades.
Spielman acknowledged as much to ESPN's Josina Anderson.
#Vikings GM Rick Spielman to me on the phone: 'We're trying to be as aggressive as we can tonight because of the amount of capital we have..If there are players still there..in the upper echelon of the 2nd/3rd round..once we finalize our game plan that's a definite possibility."

Minnesota has also been linked to Redskins LT Trent Williams, who has long wanted out of Washington. Despite having not played professional football in over a year, Williams still remains one of the highest-paid and accomplished left tackles in the game.
The Redskins valuation of him is reportedly a Day 2 pick. Coincidence? We think not.
W/ Trent Williams still not traded after 1st round, I asked the #Vikings GM, if that's led him to re-engage on talks w/ Wash. He said, "this morning I've spent most of my time assessing what's left on the Draft board." On if that means he won't he said, "I would never say never."

Spielman didn't categorically deny such negotiations are taking place, which is an NFL GM's way of saying, "Check back with me in a few hours."
After trading Stefon Diggs and failing to find a partner for an Anthony Harris move, the Vikings offseason got off to a lackluster start. If Spielman's inkling of a productive Day 2 proves to be true, however, they could turn things around rather quickly.
