Vikings Have Excellent Response After Stopping NFL Streak With 20-Plus Point Halftime Comeback
By Michael Luciano
The Minnesota Vikings appeared to be dead and buried after a lifeless first half against the Denver Broncos, trailing 20-0 at half.
It seemed they were destined to become the 100th consecutive team to lose after trailing by 20 or more at halftime, but Minnesota bucked the trend and pulled out a 27-23 win.
After the game, the Vikings' Twitter account made sure EVERYONE knew that Mike Zimmer and company just pulled off something that literally had a one percent chance of happening in recent history.
Kirk Cousins, who played the first half like some fan in a No. 8 jersey who ran on the field and started taking snaps, went supernova in the second half, finishing 29-of-35 passing with 319 yards and three touchdowns. The mighty Vic Fangio defense couldn't stop a nosebleed in the second half.
They Vikings were on the brink of being dominated at home by Brandon Allen, but can now rest easy with an 8-3 record and a playoff appearance looking more likely by the game.
