Vikings RB Dalvin Cook Shows How Unselfish He is Amidst Contract Negotiations
By Thomas Carannante

The Minnesota Vikings redeemed themselves with a promising draft over the weekend after a fairly turbulent offseason, and it seems things are starting to swing in their favor even more with this update surrounding Dalvin Cook.
While the star running back is reportedly seeking a long-term deal that will make him one of the highest-paid at his position, he's not abandoning the team while the two sides negotiate.
The #Vikings begin the virtual period of their voluntary offseason program today, and star RB Dalvin Cook plans to participate while awaiting a new contract, per sources.

Cook is entering the last year of his rookie deal.
Just what the Vikings needed -- something the media can't spin into bad news. Cook will participate in the team's "virtual period" of voluntary offseason workouts, and he'll be a much-needed presence with a big incoming rookie class coming to Minnesota.
Minny didn't draft a running back, though, so it's clear they're going to get this contract extension done with Cook as soon as they possibly can.

It's going to be crucial that a guy like Cook is leading by example for all of these young prospects trying to make an impression, because the Vikings need some of these offensive line and defensive rookies to make an impact in Year 1 if they want to get back to the playoffs.
As for the contract talks with Cook, don't expect them to last too long now that the Vikings seemingly have most of their ducks in a row in preparation for the 2020 season.
