Vikings Reportedly Resting Starters vs Bears in Week 17
By Sean Facey

After clinching a spot in this year's postseason, the Minnesota Vikings aren't going to take any chances in the final regular season game of the year.
The Vikings will reportedly rest their starters in their Week 17 showdown against the Chicago Bears.

It's a safe bet for a team that will have literally nothing to play for ahead of the playoffs. The Vikings are locked into the No. 6 seed in the NFC. A win gets them nothing.
They'll need everyone fully healthy in the first round of the playoffs, though. Their first-round draw this year could be one of several teams fighting for positioning entering Week 17, including the New Orleans Saints.
With the #Vikings locked into the No. 6 seed, the plan for Sunday’s game vs. Chicago is to rest Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Eric Kendricks and other key starters, per @ChadGraff.

In this situation, though, the Bears will at least be playing for some bragging rights. Though Chicago's 2019 campaign will end in disappointment, they at least have a chance to sweep the season series from the Vikings for the second year in a row.
Some might frown upon resting starters, but at the end of the day, it ensures that the Vikings will be able to put out their best football team on the field for their biggest game of the year thus far.
