Vikings Surprisingly Rule Adam Thielen Out for Monday Night vs Seahawks
By Michael Luciano
The Minnesota Vikings have a season-defining matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football next on the schedule, but they'll be forced to go to war without their reliable Pro Bowl receiver.
Adam Thielen, who hasn't played since mustering only seven snaps against the Kansas City Chiefs at the beginning of the month, has been ruled out for their Monday Night matchup at CenturyLink Field.
This comes after Thielen returned to practice earlier in the week.
Thielen has just 27 catches this year, also piling up 391 yards and six touchdowns. Thielen has struggled to stay healthy this season, and he has played just 16 snaps in his last two games against the Lions and Chiefs, as he continues to re-aggravate a hamstring injury he suffered in the Detroit game.
Stefon Diggs will be the de facto No. 1 target on Monday, with the likes of Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell also filling in for Thielen.
Against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, every able-bodied player needs to be at 100 percent in order to pull off an upset. Not having Thielen on the field is a crippling loss for their passing attack.
