The Minnesota Vikings moved on from former first-round pick Laquon Treadwell this offseason, replacing him with former Redskins wideout Josh Doctson.

Doctson was hoping to reenergize his career in Minnesota, and the Vikings were keen on him contributing to their passing attack. Unfortunately for both parties, neither outcome seems likely to occur any time soon.

Per insider Ian Rapoport, Josh Doctson was placed on injured reserve as he deals with what appears to be a serious leg injury.

The 26-year-old didn't feature in Week 1 with the Vikings, and now he likely won't be back on the field until late in the year, if at all.

In three seasons with Washington, Doctson appeared in 33 games, starting 26. He logged 81 receptions for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns, and has recorded a career catch rate of just 50%.

The former TCU star has yet to reach his potential in the NFL, and with this latest injury, his window to make the jump is getting tighter.

It'll be interesting to see how Minnesota plans to address the loss of Doctson. Treadwell remains in free agency, though it's probably more likely that the Vikings explore other options at the position, or look to their practice squad.
