Vinny Curry Reportedly Emerges as Eagles Trade Candidate Ahead of Deadline
By Chris Russo
Just as soon as the Philadelphia Eagles brought back Vinny Curry, they just might let him go again.
After a year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Curry latched back on with Philly this offseason. However, just a few months later, the 31-year-old might be on his way out the door.
Curry is reportedly available in trade talks until the deadline Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. EST. The eighth-year defensive end has recorded one sack and 12 tackles through eight games this season, meaning the Eagles are unlikely to get a heavy return.
Curry had his best season back in 2014, when he recorded a career-high nine sacks and four forced fumbles. However, he had a renaissance year in 2017, when he amassed a career-high 42 tackles as more of a run-stopper, and helped lead the Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LII. The team released him after that season ended, but re-signed him in March.
Curry signed with the Eagles on a one-year, $2.25 million deal back in March, but with the team expected to sell at the deadline, his second stint in Philly may prove to be short lived.
On the year he's logged eight tackles and one sack while featuring on less than half of the team's defensive snaps through eight games.
