Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Removed From Game After Being HBP on Wrist
By Mark Powell

The Toronto Blue Jays appear to have dodged a major bullet.
In Friday night's game against the Houston Astros, former top prospect and future face of the franchise Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was removed after being hit by a pitch on the wrist.
Thankfully, x-rays came back negative on the young Jays stud.

Vladdy was hit by a 96 MPH Gerrit Cole fastball, so this surely could've been a lot worse. Whether an IL stint is necessary remains to be seen, however.
Toronto's struggles this season have been well-documented, but not surprising north of the border. The Blue Jays gutted most of the talent from the roster long ago, with only Marcus Stroman remaining (and he's likely to be dealt soon). Guerrero Jr. is the lone bright spot for this Toronto team, and he's handling the spotlight quite well.
“The beautiful thing about this kid is he knows what he’s doing,” manager Charlie Montoyo said. “For a 20-year-old, I’m impressed with how cool and collected he is, with all the press and everything else, he just plays the game and has fun."
