Wade Phillips Jumps on Lamar Jackson MVP Bandwagon and Calls Him 'Michael Vick Plus'
By Sam Dunn

Lamar Jackson is one of the great stories in football, and the hype train is only beginning to get revved up. The Ravens QB is rightly getting MVP buzz around the league for his scintillating play week after week, but to hear Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips tell it, he's already better than arguably the most iconic fleet-footed quarterback in history.
According to the Son of Bum, MVP may as well stand for "Michael Vick Plus."

Phillips should know. He overlapped with Vick in Atlanta when he was an assistant there, and saw the way 2000's No. 1 overall pick electrified the league from the jump. However, Vick can't hold a candle to Jackson when it comes to carrying a team to new heights and mixing a potent running threat with lethal aptitude in pitching the ball around the park.
"He’s certainly the MVP so far this year," he said, via ESPN.
Lamar Jackson has now started 16 games. In a full regular season's worth of work, here are his stats:

3,150 passing yards, 20 TDs, 8 INTs; 1,258 rushing yards, 10 rushing TDs
Michael Vick didn't throw for 3,000 yards till his eighth season. Career-high 1,039 rushing in Year 6.
Yes, folks, "Freaky L" is already better than Michael Vick despite his tender 22 years of age. He's completely changed public perceptions of what the Ravens are capable of. It's simply dizzying to imagine what he might be capable of once he's hitting the top of his prime and has a fuller arsenal of weapons around him.
