Wagner LB Nashawn Brooks Reportedly Killed in Car Crash
By Michael Luciano

The FCS football community is currently mourning the loss of one of their most intriguing linebacker prospects and one of the hardest workers associated with the Wagner College program.
Linebacker Nashawn Brooks, who was going into his sophomore season at Wagner, was killed in a car crash that killed two others at around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday Night.

Brooks was a star at Irvington High School in New Jersey, where he switched from running back to offensive line after a lot of starters on the line graduated. He then converted to linebacker as a senior, where he piled up 100 tackles and attracted the attention of then-Wagner head coach Jason Houghtaling.
Brooks didn't seen much playing time during his first season with the Seahawks, but 2020 figured to be a pivotal year for him, as he was to replace the departed Cam Gill, now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at inside linebacker.
