Warriors Announce Beyond Weak Punishment for Part Owner Who Shoved Kyle Lowry
By Max Scoli
The Golden State Warriors handed down their punishment to part-owner Mark Stevens for pushing Kyle Lowry after he dove into the stands for a loose ball.
Does the punishment fit the crime here?
The Verdict: Guilty
The Punishment: Not Allowed to another NBA Finals game this season.
This is a weak punishment at best, especially for a part owner. Stevens has a personal stake in the team and his actions reflected poorly on the entire organization. Sadly, his consequences did not reflect this.
Lowry respects every fan's right to feel that they are a part of the game, but once they put their hands on an opposing player, the rules change:
“The fans have a place; we love our fans,” Lowry said after Game 3. “But fans like that shouldn’t be allowed to be in there, because it’s not right. I can’t do nothing to protect myself."

At least there is one silver lining. The entire incident has completely overshadowed Stevens' career achievements as the billionaire investor's Wikipedia page states he is best known for this altercation rather than any of his lucrative business ventures.
I guess in the end, the guy got what was coming to him. Although the formal punishment could have been more harsh, Mark Stevens will have a tough time dealing with the court of public opinion.
