Warriors Announcing They'll Retire Kevin Durant's Number Proves They're Feeling Guilty Beyond Belief
By Ryan Flores

Golden State is on a serious guilt trip right now.
On Monday, the Warriors issued a statement from CEO Joe Lacob regarding the departure of Kevin Durant. Lacob thanked Durant for his three years of service, and said that no player will ever wear No. 35 for the Warriors ever again.

While this is a classy move, you can tell that the Warriors most definitely feel very guilty about what happened with Durant in his final year in Golden State. From the calf injury to the torn Achilles to the reported arguments with Draymond Green, this seems like Lacob's way of apologizing to Durant.
Retiring Kevin Durant's No. 35 for three years of service is crazy. #Warriors https://t.co/tOmB4igQet

Yes, Durant did more for the Warriors in three years than most players do in 12, but it's still a very odd thing to do. The Warriors probably shouldn't be feeling obligated to retire Durant's jersey considering they had the best team in NBA history before he joined them.

Regardless, Durant leaves the Warriors with an epic legacy that includes two NBA championships and two Finals MVP awards. He'll now join Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan in Brooklyn in an attempt to conquer the Eastern Conference.
Classy move, Mr. Lacob. However, it seems like it wasn't truly necessary.
