Warriors Brass Wants Klay Thompson to Sit Out Game 3 but He's Continuing to Try to Play
By Michael Luciano

Steve Kerr and the brains upstairs in the Golden State Warriors front office don't seem too keen on sharpshooter Klay Thompson playing in Game 3 of the Finals against the Raptors after he suffered a hamstring strain late in Game 2.
Thompson, whom Kerr believes "could be half dead and he would say he would be fine", is going against the grain, defying his bosses, and trying to suit up for Game 3 against Kawhi Leonard and Toronto.

Deciding if Klay will play tonight basically comes down to one simple question. Are the Warriors better with Quinn Cook and Alfonzo McKinnie or Klay at about 50% health? With a hamstring injury limiting his lateral mobility, making his trademark perimeter defense less effective, that decision is almost a coin flip at this point.
The Warriors could be extremely shorthanded for Game 3, as two of their five All-Star caliber players could be sidelined, as Kevin Durant was ruled out with that lingering calf injury.

Since they signed Durant, the Warriors are a paltry 6-11 in games Klay hasn't played in. If they lose this game without him, winning three more games, two of which are in Toronto, seems like even more of a challenge for the reigning champs.
