Warriors GM Bob Myers Thinks Team Has Good Chance of Re-Signing Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant
By Will Fowler

With the NBA Finals all wrapped up, attention now points toward a free agency period that's bound to be one of the most exciting in recent memory.
Two of the biggest free agents come by way of Oakland, as both Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson see their current contracts with the Warriors come to an end, of course, assuming KD exercising his opt-out clause.
And as expected, Golden State isn't going to let those guys walk that easily.
The Warriors’ current plan is to offer both Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant a 5-year max deal this summer, despite their injuries. (via @WindhorstESPN)

This was probably the most likely scenario, seeing that both suffered injuries that will keep them sidelined for a good amount of time next season, but it's still worth noting. Durant has been linked with moves away to New York and Brooklyn, while Klay has been heavily connected with the Lakers.
It seems like the Warriors are going to try to use the hometown card and supermax contracts to convince them both to return to Golden State next season, though that'll probably take a lot of financial tinkering.
I can confirm the @WindhorstESPN report that the Warriors still expect to offer Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant full five-year maximum contracts despite their injuries.

Regardless of what unfolds, free agency just got a whole lot more interesting knowing that Golden State will remain major players for both free agents.
