Warriors' Latest Kevon Looney Injury Update is Legitimately Concerning
By Sean Facey

The Golden State Warriors' season got off to a rough start when they opened the brand-new Chase Center with a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers 141-122, and things were particularly tough to swallow on the injury front when Kevon Looney was forced to exit the game early.
Unfortunately, the big man's status doesn't seem to be getting any better in the short term. The latest update from the team stated that Looney set to meet with "a team of specialists" to determine the true extent of his hamstring injury, which is plainlyt concerning.
Kevon Looney will not play in the Warriors next two games. Warriors say Looney will see ‘a team of specialists’ to determine what’s going on with his hamstring injury. Team says it’s actually a ‘neuropathic condition’ that is affecting his hamstring.

The fact that he's set to meet with a team of doctors so early in the season is proof that this is no run-of-the-mill hamstring injury, and that it could possibly be more severe than initially expected.
The "neuropathic condition" that seems to be affecting him extends back a couple of years and likely means that this has been, and will continue to be, a recurring problem for him down the road.
Steve Kerr says Kevon Looney has been dealing with this neuropathic issue for a couple years and it’s what led to recent hamstring issues. Huge blow to already thin Warriors center spot.

It doesn't bode well for the Warriors' depth. Already short players at the center position heading into this season, they'll now be forced to turn to a less-than-ideal supply of players on the bench to fill his minutes while Looney is out.
Hopefully for the five-time defending Western Conference champs, Looney can find a way to either play around this issue or mitigate it completely, because Golden State absolutely needs him out on the floor as often as possible.
