Warriors Reportedly Trade Andre Iguodala to Grizzlies
By Sam Dunn

It's not often that an NBA Finals MVP with potential Hall of Fame credentials gets traded late at night on the first day of free agency. But these are strange, strange times, and the Golden State Warriors had cap space to clear. So here we are.
Minutes after news broke that they were acquiring D'Angelo Russell from the Nets and paying him $117 million over four years, the Dubs have offloaded Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Golden State is trading Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies, league source tells ESPN. Warriors are sending a 2024 protected first-round pick in the 2024 (protected 1-4), 2025 (protected 1) and 2026 unprotected.

It's an unceremonious parting for the inimitable veteran and the team for which he worked so tirelessly. The man whose 2015 NBA Finals performances earned him series MVP honors and helped start the Warriors' dynasty under Steve Kerr is gone now.
Hello, Memphis.
Aye, it's cracking in Memphis!

It's not clear what the Grizz might have in mind for Iggy, who even by his own admission is closing in on the end of his career. For now, let's consider what might happen if we really do live in the darkest timeline:
Iguodala is a former Rob Pelinka client. If his stay in Memphis is short, don’t be surprised to see Lakers get involved https://t.co/fEsUTla1xg

Think about that, America.
D’Angelo Russell breaking up another Iggy relationship is too perfect

Oh, and that, too.
