Warriors reportedly tried to trade for LeBron James before the deadline

This really would have turned the league upside down. Leading up to the 2024 NBA trade deadline, there were plenty of rumors that LeBron James was hoping to be traded by the Los Angeles Lakers. In the end, nothing happened.
However, it turns out some teams were trying to pull off a blockbuster, including the Golden State Warriors. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, Golden State tried pitching a deal to LA to get James together with Steph Curry. The Lakers said thanks, but no thanks.

Can you imagine if James would have been dealt to the Warriors? The idea of him and Curry running up and down the floor would be wild for defenses to even think about trying to contain. As much fun as that would have been, nothing was finalized and James will close out the rest of the campaign near Hollywood instead of the Bay Area.
