Kevon Looney proved his versatility and value throughout the Golden State Warriors' injury-plagued run to the NBA Finals. Now, the team is scrambling to round out its ranks after missing out on Kevin Durant when free agency began Sunday night, and re-upping with Looney is reportedly an ongoing conversation.

Looney made just $1.5 million last season, and is due for a tremendous upgrade. The center posted 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1 assist during his 20.6 minutes per game in the playoffs, but his value both on the offensive and defensive ends allowed the Warriors to overcome injuries to Durant and Klay Thompson and keep the NBA Finals interesting.

The Warriors are not the only team that is interested in Looney, as the Rockets also met with the 23-year-old Sunday. Looney obviously feels at home with Golden State, but if the Warriors cannot match what the Rockets or any other team might give him on an offer sheet, then Looney may feel the need to move on.

The situation remains fluid, with the Warriors making a big push for Looney as they hope to avoid the further thinning of their roster.
