Warriors Retiring Kevin Durant's Number and Not Andre Iguodala's is Insulting and Wrong

I think you were as shocked as I was when it was revealed the Golden State Warriors are planning on retiring Kevin Durant's No. 35 after just three years with the team.

What Durant did in his time with Golden State is certainly worth acknowledging. He averaged 26/7/5 across three seasons, was an All-Star all three years, and helped lead the team to two more championships.

At first this sounded more like an informal sign of respect than a legitimate number retirement. That was, until a couple hours later, when it was confirmed that Durant's No. 35 would be hung in the rafters of Golden State's new arena.

I don't mind Durant's number being retired. There's no official guidelines stating what a player has to do with a team in order to be the last to wear that number -- that's a decision made by the front office, and it varies from team to team.

But, it seems a little weird that Durant is receiving these honors while Andre Igoudala, who's been with the team since before Durant came and won a Finals MVP himself, doesn't get the same recognition.

I get that Durant is a better player, but Igoudala's accolades deserve to be acknowledged too. He's more beloved in Oakland than KD is too. Something just doesn't feel right here.
