It's no longer the Washington Football Team over in the NFC East. Instead, the long wait for fans is over, as the squad officially has a new name they can proudly don moving forward: the Washington Commanders.

While the name of the team was leaked on Tuesday, folks are still fired up over this fresh start for Washington. The days of the Redskins are long gone, and now the Commanders are ready to make plenty of noise in the league.

There's some exciting talent for the Commanders. We'll see if this new name will give the team some pep in their step heading into the 2022 campaign.
