VIDEO: Weather at Lincoln Financial Field for Eagles vs Giants MNF Looks Like a Complete Mess
The tarps are out in Philadelphia just a couple of hours away from the start of tonight's Monday Night Football clash between the hometown Eagles and their bitter division rivals, the New York Giants. The game is scheduled to be played under veritable hurricane-like conditions, with heavy rain and winds expected to linger for most of the contest. Sportscaster Kevin Harlan, who is calling the game on radio for Westwood One, recently uploaded a clip capturing the inclement weather conditions to his Twitter feed. And it ain't pretty.
With the Eagles currently sitting at 5-7, their patience with QB Carson Wentz has been running out amid his subpar performance this season. The terrible conditions for tonight's matchup will surely do Wentz no favors as he looks to lead his Eagles to their sixth win of the season, an all-important victory considering it would (somehow!) give the team a tie for first place in the NFC East.
With the field drenched, expect a run-heavy approach on offense from both teams (great news for any Saquon Barkley fantasy owners). In what should be a sloppy contest, the 2-10 Giants will have to play smart and tough situational football in order to prevail against this hobbled Eagles team. These are exactly the type of circumstances that could lead to a Giants upset.
