VIDEO: Weili Zhang Amazingly Tells Joanna Jedrzejczyk to Shut Up During UFC 248 Media Day Faceoff
By Evan Wolff
Trash talking has been a part of combat sports for as long as anyone can remember. That ability to simultaneously self-promote and get under an opponent's skin is a valued skill in the fight game. However, some fighters, such as Joanna Jedrzejczyk, never seem to know when to stop, or care to stop. Her opponent, UFC Strawweight champion Weili Zhang, reached her limit of Jedrzejczyk's harassment, and told her in no uncertain terms it needed to stop.
Normally at faceoffs, there will be at least some back and forth between the fighters, and words are typically exchanged to make it look good for the cameras. However, Zhang appeared disinterested in even engaging with Jedrzejczyk, and that seemed to annoy the former champion. So she kept berating her down until Zhang finally had to respond, and it was the most annoyed we have ever seen her.
Jedrzejczyk doesn't seem to be winning many fans over, and quite frankly I don't think she cares. It should be an awesome title fight between two women who want to knock each other out more than anything.
