WFAN's Mike Francesa Claps Back at Trevor Bauer Exactly the Way You Thought He Would
By Parker White
This was meant to happen, right?
WFAN's Mike Francesa has no problem giving his opinion, even if that means criticizing an athlete. Talking about the upcoming trade deadline and what pitchers the Yankees should target, Cleveland's Trevor Bauer was mentioned, and Francesa declared he didn't want any part of his craziness, on and off the field, in pinstripes.
That led to Bauer responding to Francesa (indirectly), continuing the back-and-forth.
The 65-year-old isn't backing down, though, and reiterated all his issues combatively on Twitter, along with an impossible challenge.
Whatever you think of Francesa, he has a point. Bauer hasn't really accomplished much over his career, and we are talking one of the top figures in sports talk radio...ever.
But, then again, those two things are completely incomparable.
Of course, you can believe more than one thing. Yes, Bauer hasn't reached legendary status like Madison Bumgarner, but that doesn't mean the Indians right-hander can't handle pitching in New York.
Honestly, he'd probably do fine.
Knowing both of their personalities, this might continue over the next couple days. Can you imagine what Francesa will do if Brian Cashman pulls off a deal to bring Bauer to New York?
