VIDEO: White Sox OF Daniel Palka Fools Padres Baserunner With No-Look Assist From Right Field
By Karl Rasmussen
Patrick Mahomes may be responsible for the increase in no-look passes in the NFL, but that trend has officially made its way to the baseball diamond, too. During a White Sox Spring Training game against the San Diego Padres, Daniel Palka recorded an impressive outfield assist for the South Siders, utilizing a bit of trickery in order to secure the out at first base.
Palka looked set to throw down to third base in order to gun out the lead runner, but instead swiftly shifted gears and caught San Diego's Gabriel Arias, who had taken a sizable turn past first. Jose Abreu was ready and waiting, and promptly slapped down the tag on him.
That's some heads-up defense from Palka, who fooled just about everyone with his slick play from the outfield.
