White Sox Troll Their Own Fans After Signing Yasmani Grandal
Even though it's still very early into MLB free agency, Chicago White Sox fans have voiced their frustrations with the front office for their lack of signings.
Well, the team clearly took notice of the fans' complaints and playfully trolled them with this meme on Twitter after signing star catcher Yasmani Grandal to a four-year, $73 million contract.
It's safe to say that the Southsiders will be more than thrilled over the team's marquee acquisition.
This wasn't just an average move either. Grandal is coming off an All-Star season with the Brewers, during which he hit a career-high 28 home runs and drove in 77 RBI. Bringing that level of production to Chicago, along with Grandal's elite defense behind the plate, will be a huge help for their postseason aspirations in 2020.
The White Sox already had a nice young core with Tim Anderson, Eloy Jimenez, and Lucas Giolito. Adding Grandal might be the move that helps bring them into the postseason.
But still, Chicago fans want more. And after acquiring Grandal, the fan base has its sights set on an available starting pitcher -- former Met Zack Wheeler.
With the White Sox already granting the fan base one major acquisition, it's only a matter of time until the team, which has not been shy about their plans to make big splashes this offseason, secures another top tier talent.
