Yasmani Grandal Sounds Like He Really Doesn't Care the Astros Cheated Like Crazy
By Sam Dunn

Yasmani Grandal made headlines Thursday when he agreed to a four-year, $73 million deal with the White Sox, but that wasn't quite the only thing he did. On a radio appearance with Chicago's 670 The Score, the two-time All-Star catcher was asked about the Houston Astros' hellish, ever-widening sign-stealing scandal. Surprisingly, he didn't exactly sound too mad about it.
In fact, he didn't feel any real way at all.
Yasmani Grandal on the Astros' sign-stealing scandal: "They're doing whatever they can to win. If you're not cheating, you're not trying, I guess. It got them a ring. ... The past is the past. It happened. People found out. Now, let's do something to fix it and keep on going."

That's an eyebrow-raising level of indifference from a competitor who plays a position that is literally where pitching signs originate. It would be easy enough to tee off on the Stros for their cheating ways just like basically everyone else has. For him to utterly refuse to condemn their actions is a funny thing indeed.
I guess he's just about that action, boss.

Maybe moving to the American League will force Grandal to look at things differently. But for now, count this well-paid backstop among those who could pretty much care less about the fine print when it comes to the integrity of the game.
