The second half of the AFC Wild Card bout between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans got off to a controversial start. With the Texans receiving the kick, return specialist DeAndre Carter appeared to have given himself up on the play, signaling for a fair catch in the end zone. Well, he didn't take a knee, and instead tossed the ball off to the referee. The Bills proceeded to pounce on the ball, and on the field the play was ruled a touchdown.

The officials called it a live ball upon first look, and Buffalo's special teams unit capitalized on that, diving on the rock in the end zone.

Fortunately, after a brief review, common sense prevailed. The Texans got the ball back and started the drive from the 25 yard line.

Just another poor showing from the referees, and this is just the first game of the NFL Playoffs.
