Will Muschamp Thinks South Carolina Isn't 'Little Brother' to Clemson and That's Hilarious

There's just a little over a month until the start of college football season, believe it or not. With preseason practices beginning in a couple short weeks, coaches are beginning to make their expectations for the season well-known.

South Carolina is coming off a disappointing end to their 2018 campaign, as they were shut out by Virginia in the Belk Bowl. Head coach Will Muschamp has made it clear that he is expecting improvement out of his team in the upcoming season-- and he also made clear that he doesn't believe the Gamecocks live in the shadow of any other team in college football. Not even their in-state rivals that happen to be reigning national champs.

Well, one reporter tested Muschamp by asking him if he thought South Carolina was the "little brother" of one of FBS's best: Clemson.

"Coach Boom" gave a clear and stern answer to that question, cutting off the reporter asking it. He in no way believes that the Gamecocks have become the little brother to Dabo Swinney's Clemson.

Just like every year, South Carolina has a very difficult test competing in the SEC. With a 7-6 overall record and 4-4 record in the SEC, the Gamecocks have plenty to improve upon in an SEC East division that is steadily growing into more than just a pile of pretenders chasing Georgia.

South Carolina has plenty to do before they can be considered anything other thant the "little brother" of Clemson. Although Muschamp sees that as an unfair assessment of his team, he should consider it a compliment to be considered directly under the defending champions of the college football world.

Muschamp and his team have their fair share of work to do, but in the meantime, it's probably best to avoid asking South Carolina's boss man whether or not he believes his team is anyone's younger sibling.
