Willie Calhoun Blasts Rangers Again After Latest Demotion to Minors
The Texas Rangers have one too many outfielders with the return of Hunter Pence from the IL, and Willie Calhoun once again found himself as the odd man out.
Calhoun blasted the team for his recent demotion, arguing he's done everything he's been asked of to this point.
In an interview with the Fort-Worth Star Telegram, Calhoun said, "I don't know what else I would have had to have done."
Calhoun has traveled between Triple-A Nashville and Texas four times this season, but the Rangers have yet to reward him with a permanent roster spot. He's growing frustrated as he feels he's performed well enough to stick around in the big leagues.
The Rangers' outfielder was hitting .277 with a .313 OBP in 94 at bats with the big league team. With the Rangers pushing towards a playoff spot and Calhoun playing a role in that ascent, it'll be interesting to see how long he'll linger in Nashville before he makes his big league return.
