Willie Taggart Still Having a Job at FSU is the Biggest Mystery in College Football
By Chris Pyo

When Willie Taggart was hired as the coach of the Florida State Seminoles football team, expectations were high. After all, he was replacing Jimbo Fisher, who had gone 83-23 and led FSU to a BCS National Championship win in 2013.
However, things have gone downhill from there. So drastically downhill, in fact, that it's still a wonder how Taggart has managed to keep his job as head coach.
Miami leads #FSU 17-3 at halftime. The Seminoles have nearly as many penalty yards (60) as total yards (88). Defense has been mostly solid, but gave up a few ill-timed plays. Most of Miami's yardage (206) has come on completions of 34, 39 and 42 yards.

It seems like Taggart can't get a solid win to save his life. FSU's managed to beat programs such as Syracuse and NC State, which are respectable in their own rights but are nowhere near the caliber of the programs that Florida State fans are used to beating.
And now, they're losing to a 4-4 Miami team that lacks national prevalence. Then again, Florida State hasn't been relevant since Taggart became its head coach.

There have been enough on-field issues for Seminole fans to legitimately question Taggart's ability to coach in the ACC. Gone are the days of Jimbo leading a perennial powerhouse program.
If Taggart can't salvage this season and at least lead FSU to a bowl appearance, which they missed out on last season for the first time in 36 years, there's no question he should be fired. It's seriously a miracle that he's made it this far.
