Wisconsin Badgers Assistant Coach Howard Moore Tragically Loses Wife and Daughter in Car Accident

Tragic news struck the Wisconsin men's basketball team this weekend. News of a car crash has emerged involving assistant coach Howard Moore that took place around 2 a.m. near Ann Arbor, Mich., that claimed the lives of Moore's wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Jaidyn.
Moore, a former Badgers player turned assistant coach, was injured in the accident along with his 13-year-old son, Jerell. Both are expected to recover from their injuries.

Michigan State Police said that 23-year-old Sam Winchester was driving west in the eastbound lanes on State Route 14 when she collided with the Moore family's vehicle. A toxicology report for Winchester is still pending, according to police. Police also reported that their was a third vehicle involved in the crash. The collision also claimed the life of the Moore family dog.

Since the news of the crash surfaced, many have spoken up to voice their support for Moore and his family. As Badgers head coach Greg Gard stated, "There are no words to describe how devastated we are for Howard and his family. Howard is so much more than a colleague and coach. He and Jen and their children are dear friends to everyone they met. Their positivity and enery lift up those around them."

Gard and other Wisconsin coaches traveled to Michigan on Saturday to be with and support Moore. Our thoughts are with him and his family, as well as the University of Wisconsin family, at this most difficult of times.
