3 Worst Browns Head Coaches of the Decade
By Mark Powell
The Cleveland Browns head coaching tree is nonexistent. In fact, they've burned down entire rainforests, as long as we're keeping this metaphor upright. Yet, Cleveland's list of recent head coaches is outright hilarious, especially in the 2010's. So, while the Browns welcome in a new decade and (hopefully) can put the last ten years of sucking behind them, here are some of the absolute worst men to lead the Browns in recent years. It's so dreadful that Freddie Kitchens didn't make the cut.
3. Pat Shurmur
Believe it or not, Pat Shurmur survived a Browns purge and even landed another head coaching gig in New York. Now fired twice over, Shurmur ranks third-worst in the decade in terms of win percentage in Cleveland. Shurmur's days with the Browns were extraordinarily forgettable, and we don't blame you for not being able to recall even one game from when he was in charge. Giants fans will suffer from the same sort of amnesia soon, we hope.
2. Rob Chudzinski
Chud! The Browns went 4-12 under Chudzinski in his sole season in charge, marking this an even worse tenure than Kitchens this season. Those Browns were led by the likes of Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden! Gross!
1. Hue Jackson
Hue Jackson went 3-36 in Cleveland, good for a .088 win percentage. He was downright despicable and his players hated him. Once Jackson was replaced midseason in 2018 by then-interim coach Gregg Williams, Cleveland went 5-3 the rest of the way.
