Xander Bogaerts extension won't come this season

Boston Red Sox fans have been hoping for a contract extension to come soon for superstar infielder Xander Bogaerts. When nothing was finalized leading up to the 2022 campaign, there were plenty of nerves.

Now, things have been made even worse with the latest update from Scott Boras, who said no extension talks will go down until after this season. That's not what people in Boston wanted to hear.

Spoke to Scott Boras this afternoon. He said definitively that any negotiations with Xander Bogaerts would wait until after the season and he looks forward to talking to the Red Sox about a “championship proven player.” … More to come later.

Bogaerts is an unreal talent and the fact that the Red Sox have bottled the negotiations like this has countless people upset. This is something the team must prioritize, as no one wants to see him leave town.
