XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck Sues Vince McMahon in Real-Life WWE Storyline
By Michael Luciano
Just as Vince McMahon's XFL 2.0 was starting to kick it into high gear, the coronavirus pandemic forced the league to cancel their inaugural season and declare bankruptcy. Commissioner Oliver Luck, the father of former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, is getting ready to take McMahon to court, as he claims he is owed quite the chunk of change in the wake of these abrupt alterations.
Luck is suing McMahon, claiming that his contract stipulates that this set of circumstances entitles him to a $20 million payday, which the WWE head is refusing to accept.
Looks like the headliner for Hell in a Cell is set.
Luck is claiming that he was wrongfully terminated when the league filed for bankruptcy after the pandemic forced them to stop fans from attending games before ultimately pulling the plug.
Sources claim that Luck received a contract worth anywhere from $20 million to $25 million, and there allegedly exists a clause in that contract that guarantees Luck that salary if terminated without cause.
McMahon finally had a football league that oozed quality both on and off the field, but the public health crisis forced them to shut down. In what looks like the first of many legal battles McMahon has to fight, Luck is claiming that the mastermind behind WWE is withholding eight figures worth of salary from him in the process.
