XFL Draft 2019 Date, Start Time and Draft Order
By Sam Dunn
The XFL is here! Or, well, it's going to be here. 2020 will mark the first season of Vince McMahon's revived football league, which played one infamous campaign in 2001, but before any of its eight franchises can hit the field, they need actual players.
With that in mind, it's time for the XFL Draft.
When is the XFL Draft 2019?
The draft begins on Tuesday, October 15th, and continues into Wednesday the 16th.
Will the XFL Draft be Televised?
No. The picking itself will be conducted via conference call. The league will announce all picks via XFL.com and the league's official Twitter and Instagram channels, as well as all team-specific pages.
XFL Draft Order
Okay, this one's weird. Take a look:
There are five phases to the draft -- skill players, offensive line, defensive front seven, defensive backs, and "open" -- each containing 10 rounds. Every phase observes a snake draft format.
Who is Eligible for the XFL Draft?
The league recently revealed its player pool for this week's draft. You can check out 12up's full roundup, as well as some notable standouts on the master list, right here.
In November, the XFL will hold a supplemental draft including players more recently released from NFL or CFL rosters, or who have since concluded their college football careers.
